It is also worthwhile to pay a visit to the Campaign against Genocide Museum. The Rwanda Cultural Heritage Academy manages eight museums, including the Campaign against Genocide Museum (RCHA). It is housed in Rwanda's Parliamentary building (the former Conseil National de Development) and was inaugurated in 2017 by Paul Kagame with the goal of highlighting Rwanda's history during the campaign against the Tutsi genocide. The parliament building was chosen as the site for this museum because it housed 600 Rwanda Patriotic Army soldiers from December 1993 to 1994 as they prepared to form the Broad-Based Transitional Government and the National Transitional Assembly.

Following the museum, we'll head to Kigali's biggest and busiest market, Kimironko Market, for an amazing afternoon of sightseeing. Hundreds of vendors have set up shop in the vast warehouse complex, selling everything from bed sheets and carved masks to a bounty of produce sourced from all over East Africa.

You'll be walking in single file through narrow passageways, ducking beneath hanging t-shirts and negotiating space with women carrying large baskets on their heads.
