4 Days Trip For Gorilla Trekking Twin Lakes

At 9 AM, our driver guide will pick you up from your hotel to embark the lifestyle of Kigali city and learning neighborhoods, markets and malls locations, museums and other important recreational places. Estimated time: 4-5 hours After lunch, by 3PM Leaving the capital city of Kigali, we drive north for about 3hours Musanze for night stay. Musanze city is the closest travel hub to Volcanoes National Park, one of the best places in Africa to see mountain gorillas in the wild. Accommodation: Fatima Hotel

The journey begins as early as 4 AM local time from Kigali City to Kinigi/Musanze to trek endangered mountain gorillas. We expect arrival to RDB Office Kinigi around 6:30AM for registration, allocation into groups and briefing from the park guide. We also advise you to be in good physical condition before starting the activity because it might be tough depending on the gorilla group you are assigned. Long sleeve shirts and pants, hand gloves, rain jackets, and hiking boots are recommended for gorilla trekking. Visitors can hire a porter to help with their luggage for roughly $15. After Trekking, lunch will be served at Migano restaurant. Based on timing schedules, we can have a short visit to IBY’IWACU Community village. Accommodation: Fatima Hotel

Our next day trip will be for golden monkeys trekking experience in Volcanoes National Park as well-one of Africa’s oldest wildlife conservation areas. At 6:30AM, we will drive to the park office for registration and briefing by the park guide before starting the hike. There are 2 habituated groups of golden monkeys in the Volcanoes National Park numbering about 85. These two habituated groups live in the slopes of Mount Sabyinyo. Golden monkey trekking is special because there is no age limit. Long sleeve shirts and pants, hand gloves, rain jackets, and hiking boots are highly recommended. After trekking, Lunch will be served at Muhabura hotel. After lunch we will hit the road to Ruhondo lake for the sunset boat cruise and hotel check-in at My Hill Eco lodge.

After breakfast at My Hill Eco-lodge, we will do the boat cruise within Burera lake, exploring different the nearby islands like bushongo, munanira, bishosho and cuza.. Other activities include birds watching, nature walking…. 2PM: Driving back to Kigali after lunch in Musanze town.
